Messier 15 is a globular cluster in Pegasus.
[edit] How to find it
Is is situated some 4° north-west of the 2.4-mag star Enif (Epsilon Pegasi, which makes it easy to find it in finder.
[edit] Appearance
M 15 is one of the most popular globular clusters among amateur astronomers, due to its brightness and position that makes is easy to find.
[edit] Naked eye
Using naked eye and direct vision, under 6.5-mag skies, Messier 15 can be seen as a fuzzy "star". No other details are visible[2][3][4].

Small, bright elliptical core, with dimensions of 45" x 30", is surrounded by swarm of stars that can be clearly seen with averted vision. Whole cluster has about 5' in diameter, and with direct vision 12 stars are visible in it at 200x.[Citation needed]

About 50 stars can be clearly seen at magnification of 250x. Many more can be perceived with averted vision. Central part has diameter of around 2', and core itself has dimensions of 42" x 18". Diameter of whole cluster is around 9'. Six star chains which are emerging from the core can be visible. Every chain is about 3' long.[Citation needed]
